Israel: Eden Alene will not perform live the candidate entries of the ESC 2021 song selection
-
Change of plans for the Israeli National Song Selection as it has been announced that the Israeli hopeful, Eden Alene, will not perform live her potential ESC 2021 entries at the national final due to covid-19 restrictions.
The Israeli broadcaster, KAN, is making one more change for this year's national song selection, as Eden Alene, who will be representing the country in Rotterdam will not perform live the three candidate songs during the national selection show HaShir HaBa L'Eurovizion. ("Our Song For Eurovision 2021") This decision comes after the ongoing covid-19 pandemic and the restrictions implemented to prevent further diaspora.
Instead of Eden performing live the three candidate entries , three videos will be broadcast during the special national selection show. In addition the show will feature interviews of the composers and special videos of Eden Alene meeting the composers of the potential ESC songs.
Three songs are running for this year's competition and the final song will be selected exclusively by an online public voting that will open the following Tuesday, with a special show to present videos of the candidate songs. The three songs are :
1. Set Me Free
2. La La Love
3. Ue La La
The special national selection song HaShir HaBa L'Eurovizion. ("Our Song For Eurovision 2021") is set to be broadcast on January 25,2021.
Last year Eden Alene won the talent show “The next Star” and the ticket to Rotterdam where she was going to perform the nationally selected song Feker Libi. Due to the covid-19 pandemic the contest was cancelled interrupting Eden's Eurovision journey. However Eden must find a new song for next year’s competition after EBU’s decision to not allow to the Eurovision 2020 entries to compete in the 2021 edition of the contest .
That's remember Eden's uptempo energetic NF performance of her ESC 2020 entry:
