Israel: It's Michael Ben David for Eurovision 2022 with the song " I'M "

Michael Ben David is Israel's Eurovision 2022 hopeful with his song ' I'M ' after winning the X-factor Israel final, the show that was used this year to select the country's representative.
After a number of auditions and shows and semi finals on X-factor four finalists reached this evening's grand final show on Channel 13. Ahead of the X-factor Grand final, the special show 'HaShir Shelanu L’Eurovizion' determined out of 8 candidate songs the four songs that the finlalists of this evening show will perform on stage.
The final consisted of two rounds. During the first round the contestants competed against each other in duels. The two winners of the duels secured their spot in the second round of the final with a third act, that came from the duel between the two defeated acts, joined them in the second round. In the second round the three acts performed their potential Eurovision 2022 entries and a 50% of public voting, 25% of X Factor Israel judges voting and a 25% of professional jury voting influenced the final outcome.
The duels
In the first round the fours acts competed in duels. Specifically we saw the following two duels:
1. Michael Ben-David (“Two Madmen” ) vs Inbal Bibi (“The Winner Takes It All)\
2. Sapir Saban (“Lonely”) vs Eli Huli (“I’ll Be There For You”)
Michael Ben David and Eli Huli won their respecitve duels and secured their spot in the second round of the final. The two defeated acts, Inbal Bibi and Sapir Saban, went into a a third duel the two of them which saw Inbal Bibi winning and securing her place in the second round of the show.

In the second round the three acts performed their potential Eurovision entries:
- Michael Ben David – I.M
- Eli Huli – Blinded Dreamers
- Inbal Bibi – Marionette
Under the same voting format the result declared Michael Ben David winner with his song " I'M " and will be representing Israel at the 66th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest in Turin, Italy. Here are how the results came out according to the judges, committee's and audience's voting:
1st place : " IM " Michael Ben David - 214 points (50 + 46 + 118)
2nd place : " Blinding Dreamers " - Eli Huli - 213 points (58 + 60 + 95)
3rd place : " Marionette " - Inbal Bibi - 173 points (42 + 44 + 87)
A few words for Michael
Michael, 25, from Petah Tikva, a city located east from the city of Tel-Aviv. He says of himself that he has an exaggerated and extreme personality despite his suffering as a child with a high-pitched voice, who was told as a child how terrible his voice is. His song is an anthem for self-esteem and respecting yourself as it is.
Michael will appear in the second semi-final to be held on May 12 in Turin, Italy.
