Israel: Linet the latest act eliminated from X-Factor Israel

• Linet is the latest act eliminated in last evening's (16/1) episode of X-Factor Israel, the show that will determine the country's Eurovision 2022 hopeful and song. 

  The X-factor Israel show has reached the quarterfinals stage with 8 acts remain in the run for representing Israel at Eurovision 2022. In last evening's episode (16/1) the first set of four acts took the stage to perform songs in duels, with each one having to win the duel in order to avoid being up for elimination. 

  In this phase the judges give a score up to 10 points each and after summarizing the judges' score the audience will give his own score while for each contestant the audience can give up to 60 points. The two contestants who lose the battle in their duel are up for elimination and the judges decide which of them will proceed to the next stage and who will leave the competion. 

  This episode featured as guest the producer Jordi , who worked with the duo Static and Ben El and also judged on the "Good Talent Israel" show. Jordi was invited to express his views on the contestants and to advise the judges.

  The four acts that took stage the stage competing in duels were: 

   

  First Duel

  Inbal Bibi - "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" (Elton John) - The judges awarded 40 points, the crowd added 53 points. A total of 93 points

                                                                            VS

  Eli Huli - "The Flower in the Gardens" (Zohar Argov) - The judges awarded 40 points to Eli, the crowd added 52 points. A total of 92 points. 

   

  Eli with one point less lost the duel and was up for elimination. Inbal secured her place in the next stage of the show .

   

  Second Duel

  Shachar Adawi - "Man In The Mirror" (Michael Jackson) - The judges gave Shahar 40 points - the crowd added an additional 49 points. A total of 89 points.

                                                                                           VS

  Linet - "Someone Like You" (Adele) - The judges awarded Linet 30 points - the crowd added another 45 points. A total of 75 points. 

   

  Linet looses the battle and is up for elimination. Shachar secures his place in the competition. 

   

  Sing-off duel

  Having lost in their duel Eli Huli and Linet were up for elimination and went into a sing-off round after which the judges decide which one to keep in the show. 

  Eli Huli - "Perfect" ( Ed Sheeran)  VS Linet -  "A Drop of Luck" (in Turkish "Deal Yarasi" by Oran Ganjebi)

  After the two candidates completed their performances the judges decided that Eli Huli should continue in the show with Linet having to end her x-factor journey. 

   

  The next episode will air on Tuesday, January 18, at 8.15pm  CET on Channel 13 where we will see the second set of four acts of the quarterfinals compete in duel and battle to remain in the show.

  How will the ESC 2022 hopeful and song be determined

  After a number of auditions and shows, once the semi final is held and the four finalists are determined on Channel 13, a second semi final will take place in order to determine the songs the four finalists will perform in the X-factor final show. Each of the four candidates will have to perform two songs selected out of the songs sent in during the submission period. In this parallel semifinal show one of the two candidate songs will be chosen for each of the four finalists. 

  Thus, the final of X-factor will see the four finalists perform the song chosen in the side semi final show while the final winner will secure the right to represent Israel in Turin at Eurovision 2022.
