North Macedonia: Andrea Koevska to Eurovision 2022 with the song "Circles"

• North Macedonia has decided to send Andrea Koevska with the song "Circles" to represent the country at  Eurovision 2022 in Turin,Italy.

  After consecutive years of internal selections for Eurovision, since 2016 precisely, MKRTV decided this year to hold a national final in order to select the country's Eurovision 2022 act and entry. In the past most of the North Macedonian entries, apart from those between 2012 ans 2014, were determined by a national final and mostly by Skopje Fest. 

  From 47 entries submitted six acts were shortlisted for the national final Za Evrosong 2022 which saw six acts taking the stage this evening: 

  • Kalina Velkovska (Kaly) – “Love and Light”
  • Yon Idy – “Dreams”
  • Lara Ivanova – “Flower of Sorrow”
  • Viktor Apostolovski – “Superman”
  • Andrea Koevska – “Circles”
  • Boris Cvetanovski – “Flying to Berlin”

   

  The results

  The final outcome of the national final were determined by the online voting that already had been running since last Friday (50%) along with the the votes coming from an international jury. 

  The jury of Za Evrosong was formed by the following members:

  • Gordon Bonello (Head of the Maltese Delegation)
  • Tali Eshkoli (Head of the Israeli Delegation)
  • Natia Mshvenieradze (Head of the Georgian Delegation)
  • Robin Bergsson (Head of Iceland's Delegation)
  • David Tserunyan (Head of the Armenian Delegation)

  Jury's results

  Each juror awarded 1 to 6 points to each competing entry with the 1 point going to the favorite one. The ranking was turned into points according to the Eurovision scale with the act with the less points receiving 12 points.  Here is how the jury vote turned out: 

  1. Andrea – 10 ( turned in to 12 points)
  2. Lara – 12 (turned to 10 points)
  3. Viktor – 16 (turned in to 8 points)
  4. Yon Idy – 21 (turned in to 7 points)
  5. Kaly – 22 (turned in to 6 points)
  6. Ris Flower – 24 (turned to 5 points)

   

  Online Voting results

  1. Viktor – 12621 votes (12 points)
  2. Kaly – 7539 votes (10 points)
  3. Andrea – 4300 votes (8 points)
  4. Yon Idy – 3743 votes (7 points)
  5. Ris Flower – 1367 votes (6 points)
  6. Lara – 1186 ψήφοι (5 points)

   

  The overall results

  Once the jury and online points were added up a tie between Andrea and Victor came up in the overall result. However Andrea won the ticket to Turin, as in case of tie the jury's favorite act wins the national final. 

  1. Andrea – 20 
  2. Viktor – 20
  3. Kaly – 16
  4. Lara – 15
  5. Yon – 14
  6. Ris Flower – 11

   

  Therefore Andrea will be representing North Macedonia at Eurovision 2022 in Turin with her song 'Circles':
