Poland: Luna selected for Eurovision 2024 to sing 'The Tower'

Luna with the song 'The Tower' has been internally selected to represent Poland at Eurovision 2024.
The Polish national broadcaster, TVP, this year opted for a internal selection in order to determine the country's hopeful for Eurovision 2024.
This morning is was confirmed that Luna will be the one to fly the Polish flag in Malmo the upcoming May. The internatal selection was held based on a five member jury and the specific criteria. Namely the jurors of the comittee that evaluated the songs are:
- Łukasz Pieter
- Michał Hanczak
- Konrad Szczęsny
- Piotr Klatt
- Kasia Moś
The juror awared their points to the candidate songs according to a scale from 1 to 10. Eventually Luna was the winner of the voting with 34 points, just one point ahead of second Justyna Steczkowska with her song “WITCH-ER Tarohoro”, receiving 33 points. In the third place there was a tie between Kayah and Dagadana with “Jesień – Tańcuj” and Marcin Maciejczak with “Midnight Dreamer”.
A few words for Luna
Aleksandra Katarzyna "Ola" Wielgomas (born 28 August 1999), known professionally as Luna, is a Polish singer and songwriter.
Wielgomas was born on 28 August 1999 in Warsaw. She studied at the "Tadeusz Baird" National Music School in Grodzisk Mazowiecki, taking violin classes. From 2015 to 2018, she attended course in legal and political sciences.In 2018, she began studying at the University of Warsaw.
In 2018, Wielgomas established cooperation with the Kayax label as part of the "My Name Is New" project. It was then that she recorded her debut song titled "Na wzgórzach niepokoju".
In 2020, Wielgomas began her cooperation with composer Michał "Fox" Król, resulting in the single "Luna", which announced the singer's new artistic path.On 2 February 2021, Luna released the single "Mniej".
On 21 April 2023, Luna released the single "Nie Please o More", which she recorded in a duet with Marcin Maciejczak. On 20 May, she released the single "Wirtualne Przedmieście",which talks about being on the border of the virtual and real world.
LUNA will compete in the first half of the 1st semi-final show on May 7 in Malmo Arena, Sweden.
