Romania: It's WRS for Eurovision 2022 with the song “Llámame”

WRS is the big winner of the Romanian national selection 'Selectia Nationala' and will fly the flag in Turin singing “Llámame”.
After receiving 94 submissions, a jury reviewed all the entries and shorlisted 45 songs progressed to the two phase semifinal round. Eventually after one withdrawal 44 acts went into a jury and public voting. Five qualifiers were selected by an online voting held within 24 hours, while fifteen qualifiers were selected by a jury. From the semifiinals 10 acts secured a spot in this evening's Grand final of Selectia Nationala.
The final show was presented by Eda Marcus and Aurelian Temișan, while Bogdan Stănescu and Ilinca Băcilă were giving all the feedback from the Green room.
Besides the competing part a total of seven Eurovision 2022 acts selected already will perform live their entries during the national final. Namely these are:
- Ronela Hajati (Albania)
- Intelligent Music Project (Bulgaria)
- We Are Domi (Czech Republic)
- Stefan (Estonia)
- Zdob și Zdub (Moldova)
- Vladana (Montenegro)
- Andrea (North Macedonia)
Special guest will be Ukraine's Jamala who has won the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with her song '1944'.
The 10 acts that competed for the ticket to Turin were:
- Alex Parker & Bastien – “Best of me”

- Claudia, Minodora, Diana – “România mea”
- Dora Gaitanovici – “Ana”
- Gabriel Basco – “One night”
- Kyrie Mendél – “Hurricane”
- MOISE – “Guilty”
- Petra – “Ireligios”
- VANU – “Never give up”
- WRS – “Llámame”
The result of the final will be influenced 5/6 by a jury and 1/6 by the audience's verdict. The jury consisted of Alexandra Ungureanu, Ozana Barabancea, Randi, Cristian Faur, Adrian Romcescu.

A few words for WRS
Andrei Ursu, aka wrs, is a multidisciplinary artist with a unique vision. Before starting his career as a vocalist, he worked as a backup dancer in television and for other artists, taking after his parents who are both folk dancers. In 2015 he became part of the boy band SHOT, kickstarting his musical career. Two years later, he leaves the project and moves to London where he perfects his songwriting skills. In January 2020 he signed a record deal with Global Records and started his electro pop music project. Alongside his music, wrs also often designs his own music videos and artworks, giving listeners a glimpse into his dreamy inner world. , taking after his parents who are both folk dancers.
WRS made his debut with the song "why", which got over a million views on YouTube and 400 thousand streams on Spotify. Also, the release "Amore" feat. Ilkan Gunuc, dominated the radio charts in Bulgaria and Turkey, while in Romania the song was present on the most listened radios and spent five weeks in Top 10 Radio Airplay.
