Serbia: Teya Dora wins the national final singing 'Ramonda' and is off to Malmö

  • Teya Dora, singing “Ramonda” won the Serbian national final of Pesma Za Evroviziju 2024 and will be flying the flag in Malmö.

    After the first and second semi-final of the Serbian national selection for Eurovision progressed to the grand final of Pesma za Evroviziju 2024.

    Live from Belgrade 16 acts took the stage to giving their battle for the right to represent Serbia at Eurovision 2024.  Dragana Kosjerina and Slaven Došlo as hosts guided the audience throughout the show, while Kristina Radenković and Stefan Popović were in the green room for a successive third year.

    The show opened with Željko Joksimović, who represented the nation in the Eurovision Song Contest back in 2004 and 2012 and had the honour to host the contest when it was held in Belgrade in 2008. Joksimović delivered on stage his Eurovision 2004 entry “Lane moje which gave Serbia an homorable 2nd place in Istanbul. 

    The 16 contestants of the final performed in the following order:

    1. Iva Lorens – Dom”
    2. Džordži – Luna park”
    3. Breskvica – “Gnezdo orlovo”
    4. Teya Dora – Ramonda”
    5. Hristina – Bedem”
    6. Marko Mandić – Dno”
    7. M.IRA – Percepcija”
    8. Nemanja Radošević – Jutra bez tebe”
    9. Milan Bujaković – “Moje tvoje”
    10. Zorja – Lik u ogledalu”
    11. Keni nije mrtav – Dijamanti”
    12. Zejna – Najbolja”
    13. Konstrakta – Novo, bolje”
    14. Bojana x David – No No No”
    15. Lena Kovačević – “Zovi me Lena”
    16. Dušan Kurtić – Za tebe živim”

     

    The results

    The outcome of the final was influenced 50% by a jury panel's voting and 50% by public voting. The jury panel was formed by the following members:

    1. Zoran Živanović (Composer)
    2. Sajsi MC (Rapper, Lyricist)
    3. Dejan Petrović (Musician)
    4. Aleksandar Sedlar (Composer, Producer)
    5. Marija Šerifović (ESC 2007 representative and Winner)

     

    The Jury vote

    The jury results saw Teya Dora coming first with Zorja in second place and Konstakta 3rd. Precisely here are the points by the jury panel:

    The Pubic voting

    The public's verdict was slightly different as it brought Breskvica in first place with Teya Dora and Konstrakta following 2nd and 3rd respectively. The combination of the two results ( jury and public) declared winner Teya Dora while Breskvica cam second and Zorja third. Here is the overall analytical scoreboard:

    A few words for Teya

    Teodora Pavlovska,  born May 1, 1992, known professionally as Teya Dora, is a Serbian singer and songwriter.She is best known for her single "Džanum", which has gained popularity on the social media platform TikTok and various musical platforms.

    She launched her career on the Serbian music scene as a songwriter and composer. She wrote the title track for Nikolija 2019 album, Yin & Yang, and also worked with Teodora and Nataša Bekvalac, among others.

    Teya Dora published her first song as an artist, "Da na meni je", in July 2019, and it became a hit. Between 2020 and 2023, she wrote several songs for the Serbian film series South Wind. In 2023, she released the song "Džanum", which became popular on social media platforms such as TikTok after the Belgrade school shooting.

    In January 2023, the Serbian national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2023  included a composition by Teya Dora, "Posle mene" performed by Filarri.

    Teya will compete in the  in the first half of the first semi-final, set for May 7 in Malmo Arena.
