Spain: Benidorm Fest 2023 First Semi-Final Results

The first semi-final of Benidorm Fest 2023 took place in Spain determining the first four finalists of the Spanish national selection for Eurovision 2023.
Benidorm Fest that is serving for a second year in a row as Spain's national selection format, kicked off last evening at Palau Municipal d’Esports l’Illa de Benidorm. The selection consists of two semifinals and one gradn final show.
The first set of nine contestants competed in the first semi-final which was hosted by Monica Naranjó, Inés Hernand and Rodrigo Vázquez.
The nine acts who took the stage this evening were:
Sharonne – “Aire”
Aritz Arén – “Flamenco”
Sofía Martín – “Tuki”
Agoney – “Quiero arder”
Megara – “Arcadia”
Alice Wonder – “Yo quisiera”
Meler – “No nos moverán”
Fusa Nocta – “Mi familia”
Twin Melody – “Sayonara”The results
The four most voted from each semi-final by the professional jury (50%) and the public (25% televoting and 25% demoscopic jury) will go to the grand final, which will see a total of eight performances.
The jury consists of 8 jurors featuring the show. Namely those are:
- Christer Björkman – Represented Sweden at Eurovision 1992, Producer of Melodifestivalen between 2002 and 2021 and member of Eurovision America Production Team
- Tali Eshkoli – Head of Delegation for Israel at Eurovision and Television Producer
- Nicola Caligiore – Head of Delegation for Italy between 2011 and 2019
- Katrina Leskanich – Winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 1997 for the United Kingdom with “Love Shine a Light”
- Wiliam Lee Adams – Founder of Wiwibloggs
- Nina – Represented Spain at Eurovision 1989 with “Nacida para amar” finishing sixth
- Irene Valiente – Director of ‘El último lugar’ on Radio 3
- Juan José Santana – President of OGAE Spain

Thus, Agoney was the winner of the first semi-final and secures his place in the Grand final with Alice Wonder, Fusa Nocta and Megara forming the first set of four qualifiers.
Benidorm Fest continues the next evening with the 2nd semi-final and the second set of nine acts taking the stage to compete for the last four qualifying spots to the grand final.
