Sweden: Marcus & Martinus win Melodifestivalen 2024 with “Unforgettable“ and will represent the host nation in Malmö

  • Marcus & Martinus triumphed at Melodifestivalen 2024 with their song 'Unforgettable' and will be representing the host nation in Malmo, Sweden. 

    The hoting nation of Eurovision 2024 decided to select Marcus & Martinus to represent the country on home grounds in Malmo, singing 'Unforgettable'. 

    Unlike previous years where we had four semifinals and one second chance round, in this year's edition a total of 30 artists competed in five semifinals with the the first two acts on the scoreboard securing a spot in the Grand final. The thrid and foruth act from each semi final went into a special voting that took place once the fifth heat is completed and filled in the last two spots of the Grand final. 

    In addition this year's show saw the knowledgeable music and Mello-experts – radio and TV profile Tina Mehrafzoon and Mello-oracle Ronny Larsson featuring the show and treating the audience with some inteteresting commentary. The final of Melodifestivalen 2024 was presentedf by Carina Berg supported by Björn Gustafsson.

    A total of 12 acts competed in this evening's show and appeared on stage in the following order:

    The Results

    The next Swedish representative was determined by a combination of Jury and public voting. The International jury voting will be made up by the following countries: 

    • Serbia
    • Iceland
    • Belgium
    • Malta
    • Australia
    • Ireland
    • Cyprus
    • Germany

    On the other hand, the public voting included the voting via the Melfest App and the televoting. The Melfest App votes was split in these age groups: 

    • 3 to 9
    • 10 to 15
    • 16 to 29
    • 30 to 44
    • 45 to 59
    • 60 to 74
    • 75+

    Marcus and Martinus won the jury voting with a total of 85 points leaving second behind Cazzi Opeia and third Medina.

    The the public voting results were added in which declared as big winner of Melodifestivalen 2024 Marcus & Martinus , who received 92 points while second came Medina with 61 points awarded ny the publc and Smash into pieces came third receiving 59 points in the public vote.     A few words for Marcus & Martinus

    Marcus & Martinus, occasionally known as M&M, are a Norwegian dance-pop duo consisting of identical twin brothers Marcus and Martinus Gunnarsen (born 21 February 2002 in Elverum, Norway). They have released three albums: HeiTogether and Moments. Since winning Melodi Grand Prix Junior in 2012, they have won numerous prizes, such as Spellemannprisen in 2017. The duo won Masked Singer Sverige in 2022, and have since participated in Melodifestivalen in 2023 and 2024.

    Marcus & Martinus will be competing straight in the Grand Final of May 11th as they are representing the hosting nation, last year's winning country.
