Netherlands: S10 releases her Eurovision 2022 entry “De Diepte”

The Dutch entry for Eurovision 2022 that S10 will be performing at the Pala Olympico stage in Turin has been released.
S10, the Dutch Eurovision 2022 hopeful has dropped her song for Turin titled "De Diepte". For this year the broadcaster has internally selected Singer Stien den Hollander, better known by her stage name S10, to represent the Netherlands at the next edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. A committee formed by Dutch television commentators Jan Smit and Cornald Maas along with radio-DJs Coen Swijnenberg and Sander Lantinga were the ones to come down with S10 as the next Dutch hopeful.
S10 will be the first performer in 12 years to represent the Netherlands with a Dutch-language entry. The S10's song has been penned by herself and producer Arno Krabman. Talking about her song she stated:
“It’s a tribute to the sadness and memories that you carry with you. Everyone experiences difficult times in their lives. That’s something we all have in common and I hope you will feel less alone when you listen to the song.”
A few words for S10
Stien den Hollander , born in Abbekerk on November 8, 2000 is better known as S10. She is a Dutch rapper and singer. She distinguishes herself with her own unique sound and voice. In her performances she raps, sings and tells personal stories in her own distinctive way.
She was 17 years old when she signed with Dutch hip-hop label Noah's Ark in January 2018 . Her EPs Antipsychotics (2017) and Lithium (2018) are named after drugs typically prescribed for psychosis and bipolar disorder . S10 has been praised for her bold and honest lyrics about her mental health issues.
Snowsniper (2019) was regarded by many as S10's proper full-length début album for which she received an Edison in the alternative category.. Its follow-up, Vlinders, came out in November 2020. This year she received the Pop Stipendium at Eurosonic Noorderslag, the prize for a promising pop artist or band.
Her latest, Adem je in, came out this summer, with a single by the same name that charted at number 15.
The Netherlands in Eurovision
The Netherlands has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 60 times since making its debut as one of the seven countries at the first contest in 1956, and has missed only four contests so far (1985, 1991, 1995 and 2002).
The Netherlands has won the contest four times, with Corry Brokken in 1957, Teddy Scholten in 1959, Lenny Kuhr in a four-way tie in 1969 and Teach-In in 1975, The country has achieved some remarkable results in the past finishing 4th with Sandra & Andres (1972), 3rd with Mouth & MacNeal (1974), 5th with Maggie MacNeal (1980), 5th with Marcha (1987) and fourth with Edsilia Rombley (1998). Its worst results were in 1958, 1962, 1963, 1968, when it finished last and in 2011 when ending up last in the semifinal.
Eurovision 2020 was set to take place in Rotterdam after Duncan Lawrence’s Eurovision 2019 victory in Tel Aviv, with Jeangu Macrooy set to perform 'Grow" for the country. However the contest was cancelled due to the covid-19 pandemic and never had the chance to perform on home soil
This year Rotterdam made it happen with the host nation being represented by last year's hopeful, Jeangu Macrooy who sang 'Birth of a new age' which finished 23rd in the overall score with only 11 points.
