The Netherlands: The four competing acts of the Junior Songfestival final unveiled

The Dutch broadcaster, AVROTROS, has unveiled the four competing acts of the Junior Songfestival final, which will determined the next Junior Eurovision representative.
Following the auditions stage that selected 23 acts to advance to the Junior Songfestival Academy from which 14 acts were shorlisted to move on to the final stage, the final four acts that will compete in the national final for Junior Eurovision 2022 have been released.
One boyband, one girlgroup , a mixed group and one soloist are this year's candidates running for the golden ticket that leads to the next Junior Eurovision in Yerevan, Armenia on December 11.
Namely the the four competing acts that will be taking the national final are:
- Luna
- Eva, Kayleigh, Larissa and Lemay (girl group)
- Danny, Kaey, Luuk, Thijs and Thomas (boyband)
- Joep, Lois, Noor and Sam (Mixed group)
Each one of these finalists will peform an original song on the Junior Songfestival stage on September 24, 2022 and the winner will go on representing the country at Junior Eurovision 2022.
The Netherlands in Junior Eurovision
The Netherlands has been participating in the contest since day 1 in 2003 and haven’t missed a year. In 2009 they won the competition and have achieved nine times to finish in the top 10 places. The country’s worst place came in 2015 when it finished 15th. In 2018 the country was represented by the duo Max & Anne and their entry Samen, which finished in 13th place with 91 points.
In 2019, Matheu represented the nation in Gliwice with his song "Dans met jou" which finished in the 4th place with 186 points. In 2020 the girl group UNITY won the national final and represented the nation in Warsaw, Poland with their song 'Best Friends' which finished 4th, the second fourth placing for the county in a row.
Last year in Paris, Ayana, represented the nation with the song “Mata Sugu Aō Ne” who finished scoring a total of 43 points.
