The Eurovision 2024 week begins with the Turquoise Carpet and Opening Ceremony taking place at the Malmo Live Congress and Concert Hall.
Good afternoon Europe and Australia!.....This is calling!! Eurovision 2024 week is about to officially kick off with the Turquoise Carpet set to take place at 15:30 CEST at the Malmo Live Congress and Concert Hall.
The carpet has been unrolled, the lights are set and here come the Eurovision stars of 2024, as the Eurovision shows week is about to start with the Opening Ceremony and the Turquoise Carpet ready to mark the primary week of the 68th Eurovision Song Contest here in Malmo, Sweden.

This year's Opening Ceremony will take place at the Malmo Live Congress and Concert Hall. Malmö Live is an event centre in Malmö, Sweden. It opened in August 2015, containing a concert hall, conference facilities, a hotel, offices, and housing. Malmö Live Concert Hall is the home of the Malmö Symphony Orchestra and can fit up to 1,600 people.
There are several other buildings around the area, holding offices and housings. Due to the appearance of several tall buildings, the area is sometimes also known as "Malmhattan".
What to see during the Turquoise Carpet
The delegations that have travelled to Malmo will have their moment to shine in their elegant formal outfits, as they take the walk along the carpet.
During the Turquoise event, the 36 competing acts fo the 68th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest will be able to meet and greet the present press media outlets. And we mention 36 as the Israeli delgation has notified of not attending due to the Holocaust Memorial Day.
In addtion, at the opening ceremony, the Mayor of Malmo and officials from the hosting broadcaster, SVT, the City of Malmo and Sweden will officially welcome the 37 delegations and the competing acts marking the beginning of the Eurovision 2024 week.
Hosts of the event
Elektra and Tia Kofi will have the honour to welcome the 36 particpants on the carpet and hold mini on spot interviews.
Elecktra is a Swedish drag performer who competed on Drag Race Sverige. She participated in Melodifestivalen 2024, with of the song “Banne maj.”
