Tonight: Germany selects for Eurovision 2023 with the national final 'Unser Lied für Liverpool'

  • Germany is holding tonight their national final 'Unser Lied für Liverpool' to select their Eurovision 2023 hopeful. 

    The time for Germany to decide has come! This evening Germany will be using a national final format in order to determine their Eurovision 2023 representative and entry. 

    The Germany national final for Eurovision 2023 'Unser Lied für Liverpool' is set to take place at  22:20 CET in the MMC Studios in Cologne. The show will see a total of eight contestants taking the stage while the show will be hosted by Barbara Schöneberger. 

     

    Namely the eight acts to compete in this evening's national final are: 

    1. TRONG – “Dare to be Different“
    2. René Miller – “Concrete Heart“
    3. Anica Russo – “Once Upon a Dream“
    4. Lonely Spring – “Misfit“
    5. Will Church – “Hold On“
    6. Patty Gurdy – “Melodies of Hope“
    7. Ikke Hüftgold – “Lied mit gutem Text”
    8. Lord Of The Lost – “Blood and Glitter“

     

    Frida Gold with “Alle Frauen in mir sind müde”, was initially set to take part in the final but due to illness she has stated that she will withdraw from the selection. 

     

    The results

    The outcome of the selection will be influenced by an online voting which has already opened days before the show, televoting during the show and jury voting. The results from the online voting will be added to those of the televoting and will contribute by 50% to the final results.

    The rest 50% will be determined by an international jury formed from music experts and professionals coming from eight countries. Specifically the jurors that will form the 8 international juries come from Switzerland, the Netherlands, Finland, Spain, Lithuania, Ukraine, Austria and the United Kingdom. Each jury will award 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 points to the contestants. 

     

    How to Watch

    The German national final show is set to hit the screen at 22:20 CET and will be aired on Das Erst and streamed via eurovision.de webstream and ARD Mediathek
