Tonight Live From Malmö: The Eurovision 2024 Second Semi-Final Show

  • The Eurovision week is moving on  to the Semi Final 2 Live Show taking place this evening at Malmo Arena in Malmo, Sweden at 21:00 CEST. 

    As Eurovision week is unwinding , following last evening's Jury rehearsal show for the Semi Final 2 competing acts, tonight the Semi-final 2 LIve show will take place in Malmo Arena in Malmo, Sweden. 

     

    The story so far

    How we ended up in Malmo? After Loreen's victorious participation with 'Tattoo' marking Sweden 7th victory, the contest returned to Malmo city after 11 years. A total of 37 countries confirmed to take part in the 68th edition of the contest under the slogan of 'United by Music'.

    Last Tuesday the semi-final 1 qualifiers were determined now today the semi-final show is following in order to determine the last set of 10 qualifiers. 

     

    Semi-final Two Live show

    From the 37 participating coutries the moemnt of truth for the second set of 16 countries has come with the second semi-final live show this evening.  10 countries made it to the final from Semi-Final one qualifiers while the Big-5 countries ( Germany, Italy, Spain, France and the United Kingdom) along with the hosting nation Sweden have pre-qualified for the Grand final. 

    The Live Semi-Final Two Show will be hosted by Pedra Mede and Malin Åkerman. The 16 competing entries to take the stage this evening will compete in the following running order:

    2.  Albania – Besa – “Titan”
    3.  Greece – Marina Satti – “Zari”
    4.  Switzerland – Nemo – “The Code”
    5.  Czechia – Aiko – “Pedestal”
    6.  Armenia – Ladaniva – “Jako”
    7.  Austria – Kaleen – “We Will Rave”
    8.  Denmark – Saba – “Sand”
    9.  Latvia – Dons – “Hollow”
    10.  San Marino – Megara – “11:11”
    11.  Georgia – Natia Busalazdze – “Firefighter”
    12.  Belgium – Mustii – “Before the Party is Over”
    13.  Estonia – 5miinust and Puuluup – “(Nendest) narkootikumidest ei tea me (küll) midagi”
    14.  Israel – Eden Golan – “Hurricane”
    15.  Norway – Gåte – “Ulveham”
    16.  Netherlands – Joost Klein – “Europapa”

    Notably the two of the Big-5 countries France, Spain and Italy  will perform live on stage tonight their performances a change that has been introduced in this year's edition. Specifically, France will perform between the acts 5 and 6, Spain will deliver between the acts 9 and 10, while Italy will appear on stage between the acts 13 and 14.

     

    Interval Acts

    Eurovision 2024: Three past winners confirmed for semi-finals' interval acts

    The viewers are about to watch a spectacular interval act show! The Eurovisions fans across the world and the audience will have the chance this year to enjoy three past winners taking part in the interval acts of the semi-final shows of the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Malmo, Sweden.

    Namely Swedish winner of ESC 1999, Charlotte Perelli with 'Take me to your heaven', Turkey's 2003 winning act Sertab Erener with 'Everyway that i can' and Greece's victorious 2005 entrant Helena Paparizou with 'My Number One' will be taking part in the second semifinal's interval act. 

    The organisers of the 68th Eurovision have are inviting the audience across the globe to the biggest sing along attempt remotely, via an interactive TV wall. The fans across the world are invited to sing along with the three Charlotte, Sertab and Helena taking part themselves in the semi-final 2 interval act.

    In addition last year's runner up Kaarija is invited back on stage to bring the party in the arena with his iconic 'Cha Cha Cha'. 

     

    The Results

    The outcome of the semi-final one will be determined exclusively by public voting. Viewers from tonight’s participating countries are eligible to cast their votes. In addition, viewers from the France, Spain and Italy and the Rest of the World will also be able to vote in the first semi-final.

    In this year's edition the EBU is implementing a different voting process. The viewers will be able to vote not after the end of the last performance, but will be able to cast their votes from the beginning of the show. 

     

    Rest of the World Voting

    Int this year's edition the Rest of the World fans will have a say in the outcome of the show. In order to sychronize the different time zones,  the Rest of the World online vote will open from the end of the Jury Show the previous evening from the live show. The vote will be open until the end of the voting window during the live broadcast of Semi-Final Two.

    Fans from non participating countries will have the chance to cast their votes once the prewatch a clip of all of the cometing entries. Voting will cost 0.99 Euro per vote and can be carried out at www.esc.vote.

     

    How to watch

    The Semi-Final One Live show is set to hit the screen at 21:00 CEST. You can watch the show streamed live on the official Eurovision Youttube Channel and through the participating broadcasters.
