  • Ukraine's Eurovision 2021 representatives, the group Go_A, performed live on stage their entry for Rotterdam, "SHUM"

The Ukrainian Eurovision 2021 hopefuls were invited as guests on the televised music competition show Lip Sync Battle, during which the band performed live the initial version of their song for Eurovision 2021 , "Shum".

Ukraine is one of the first countries to confirm its participation in Eurovision 2021 with UA: PBC deciding to stick with the national final winners of Vidbir 2020 and continue in Eurovision 2021 with the group  Go_A. The song selection, however, was determined through an internal selection with the band submitting three potential entries and a special jury assessing and selecting the entry titled "Shum"

    A few words for Go_A

Go_A is a Ukrainian electro-folk band that consists of Kateryna Pavlenko (vocalist), Taras Shevchenko (multi-instrumentalist), Ihor Didenchuk (sopiklar) and Ivan Hrihoryak (guitar).

The band was formed in 2012 and in December the same year the first song "Koliada" (Коляда) was released. The band's name means "return to the roots" and was made by combining the English word "Go" with the Greek letter "Alpha", which symbolizes the beginning of everything.

The band first gained attention after the release of the single "Vesnianka" (Веснянка), which won the National competition The Best Track in Ukraine 2015. In the fall of 2016, Go_A released their debut album Idy na zvuk (Follow the tune).

Last year the band won the Ukrainian national final with their song "Solovey" and were set to represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam. Unfortunately the contest was cancelled due to the covid-19 pandemic and Go_A never had the chance to perform in Rotterdam.

However they will have a second chance to complete their Eurovision journey this year in Rotterdam, where they'll be competing in  the second half of the first semi final on May 18 in Rotterdam Ahoy.
