American Song Contest 2022: AleXa from Oklahoma crowned winner!

  • AleXa representing Oklahoma is the Grand final winner of the first edition of the American Song Contest. 

    After five qualifying rounds, two semifinals the first edition of the American Song Contest concluded last night with its Grand final show taking place. 

    The American Song Contest which was brought to the audience by Propagate in association with Universal Television Alternative Studio, a division of Universal Studio Group,  withc ompeting acts taking part and representing all 50 states, five U.S. territories and the nation’s capital Washington DC.

    The show was hosted all the way through by two of the biggest internationally names in the music industry, with Kelly Clarkson and Snoop Dogg responsible to guide the audience through the live shows. 

    The Grand final show saw a total of 10 acts competing on stage. Namely the entries that are taking part last evening were: 

    1. Michael Bolton (Connecticut) – Beautiful World
    2. Chloe Fredericks (North Dakota) – Can’t Make You Love Me
    3. Grant Knoche (Texas) – Mr. Independent
    4. Ni/Co (Alabama) – The Difference
    5. Jordan Smith (Kentucky) – Sparrow
    6. Allen Stone (Washington) – A Bit of Both
    7. Tenelle (American Samoa) – Full Circle
    8. AleXa (Oklahoma) – Wonderland
    9. Tyler Braden (Tennessee)  – Seventeen
    10. Riker Lynch (Colorado) – Feel the Love

     

    The Voting Format 

    The outcome of the final was determined by a mix format of jury and public voting. The 56 state-judges were divided into 10 regions which were able to attributed 1-7 and 8, 10, 12 points. Rgearding the public vote, its was held seperately for each state using the same points scale but with the public vote influencing the result by 85%

    8. Michael Bolton (Connecticut) - 40

    10. Riker Lynch (Colorado) - 25
