Greece: Greek & Cypriot Eurovision stars shine at the MAD TV Video Music Awards
Sunday, 03 January 2021

  • A night before the annual MAD TV Video Music Awards were broadcast featuring some of the most popular Greek and Cypriot  Eurovision stars.

Namely, the show that took place under covid-19 restrictions and without any audience featured Helena Paparizou and the former Cypriot ESC acts Eleni Foureira and Tamta

    The outstanding performances!

    Tamta

Tamta , the act who represented Cyprus at Eurovision 2019 in Tel Aviv, with her song 'Replay', bringing the country on the right side of the scoreboard (13th), took the stage performing her cover of the song “Love Is A Compass” by the artist Griff.

The song was used for Disney’s Christmas Advent for 2020 in collaboration with cancer charity Make A Wish Foundation. Elegant Tamta in a white feather dress delivers beautifully the ballad song showing that she doesn't need fuzzy uptempo songs to prove that at the bottom line it's all about her voice!! Makes fans wonder if she could have gone with a powerful ballad song in Tel Aviv.

    Eleni Foureira

The act that represented Cyprus in Eurovision 2018 with “Fuego”  and  finished in 2n place, offering to Cyprus the country's best result ever , appeared on stage twice and in addition won the “Best Modern Female” Award

Eleni's first performance was a remix of her latest hit “Dokimase Me” (Try Me)

Additionally, Eleni appeared for a second performance, bringing the 80's mood on stage with other recent release of "Light it Up". During this performance she joined forces with the other local stars, Charja and Super C*unterines. Energetic and powerful as she has gotten us used to, reminding the audience why she well deserved 2nd place back in Libson or why she'll be back to get that trophy!

    Helena Paparizou

The Greek goddess that brought Greece's best placing in ESC 2001 with her song "Die For You" as member of Antique (3rd place) and achieved the only and one victorious  Eurovision participation for Greece back in 2005 with her "My Number One" stormed the stage with a dynamic performance!

Helena Paparizou delivered on stage her latest single “Deja Vu” with Marseaux, a track from her upcoming new album titled 'Apochrosis' (Shades).  A flamy scenery with firece dancers and Helena in full motion in a pond of water, is what we call a stormy performance! Adding to all that her award as Best Female Adult explains why she remains a queen of pop in Greece!

Notable that among the nominations was that of Stefania's, Greece's Eurovision 2020 and 2021 hopeful, who was nominated in the category of Newcomer act.
