San Marino: ESC 2022 national selection “Una voce per San Marino" will commence in December

San Marino's national selection show “Una voce per San Marino" will commence in December and will unfold over the first months of 2022.
The Sammarinese broadcaster was one of the first to confirm their Eurovision 2022 participation back in April revealing that they will select the next ESC hopeful via the show “Una voce per San Marino".
Although the details of the selection format are still unknown, San Marino will be switching to some kind of national selection show leaving behind the internal selection as an option. The country has held a national selection in the past only in 2018 with the show 1in360, through which the act and entry were determined in a national final that took place in Bratislava, Slovakia.
During a brief by The Secretary of State for Tourism Federico Pedini Amati and the Director of the Tourist Office Nicoletta Corbelli presenting an update on San Marino tourism, the Secretary of State for Turism remined the audience of the planned forthcoming events among which the show “Una voce per San Marino" which will determine the next Eurovision representative.
According to he Sammarinese official the festival “Una voce per San Marino” will kick off in December and will unwind during the first months of 2022.
San Marino in Eurovision
San Marino made its first appearcance in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2008 with Miodio and has scored no victory yet. The landlocked country has participated in Europe’s televised music event 9 times and has only made it to the Grand Final twice, in 2014 when Valentina Monetta placed 24th in the Grand Final and this year with Serhat who achieve the best placing finishing 19th in the Grand final
Valentina has flow the Sammarinese flag at the Eurovision Song Contest four times ( 2012, 2013, 2014, 2017). In 2019 Serhat flew the flag for San Marino in Tel Aviv with his entry Say Na na na, achieving to qualify to the Grand final where he finished 19th.
Senhit was internally selected to represent San Marino at Eurovision 2020 with entry ‘Freaky’ which was selected via an online song selection process. Unfortunately the contest was cancelled and Senhit didn't have a chance to complete her Eurovision journey,
SMRTV invited Senhit back for Eurovision 2021 in Rotterdam where she performed her entry 'Adrenalina' alongside with Flo Rida and after qualifying to the final she finished 22th with a total of 50 points in the overall score.
