Italy: Angelina Mango releases the official music video of 'La Noia'

  • The Italian Eurovision 2024 hopeful, Angelina Mango, has released the official music video of her Eurovision entry 'La Noia' .

    Angelina won in February the 74th edition of Sanremo Festival with the song 'La Noia' and secured her spot in the Eurovision class of 2024. 

    Now the Italian artist has released the official music of her song 'La Noia' which at the moment is featuring in the high position of the bookies' predictions and fans polls to win the next contest in Malmo. 

     

    A few words for Angelina

    Angelina Mango (born 10 April 2001) is an Italian singer-songwriter. She rose to prominence after her singles "Ci pensiamo domani" and "Che t'o dico a fa", peaked within the top ten on the Italian singles chart in 2023. They were both preceded by the release of her second extended play Voglia di vivere, which reached number two on the Italian Albums Chart. In 2023, she participated in the twenty-second edition of the Amici di Maria De Filippi talent contest, finishing second and winning the singing category and the Lunezia Award.

    On 13 November 2020, Mango released her first single "Va tutto bene", which anticipated her debut extended play Monolocale.In 2021, she opened the concerts of the Parola Tour by Giovanni Caccamo and Michele Placido, performing in November 2021 during the Milan Music Week.In the same period, she participated in the selections of Sanremo Giovani, with the song "La tua buona colazione", not being selected among the finalists.

    fter signing a contract with Sony Music and starting to write and produce new songs together with producer Enrico Bruni, Mango participated in the Concerto del Primo Maggio and in the Musica da beremusic competition in 2022, where she won the Live Award. Also in the same year, she began to publish some singles, including "Formica", "Walkman" (produced by Tiziano Ferro), and "Rituali"

     

     

    Italy in Eurovision 

    Italy has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 48 times since making its debut at the first contest in 1956.  After a 14-year absence from 1998 and on, the country returned to the contest in 2011. Italy has won the contest twice  in 1964 with Gigliola Cinquetti and her song “Non ho l’età”.  Italy’s second victory in the contest came in 1990 with Toto Cutugno and the song “Insieme: 1992”.

    Italy’s come back to the contest has proved to be very successful, the country having finished in the top ten in eight times of the last decade (2011–2021), with Raphael Gualazzi second in 2011, Nina Zilli ninth in 2012, Marco Mengoni seventh in 2013 and Il Volo third in 2015, Francesco Ghabbani 6th in Kiev. In 2018  the winners of Sanremo 2018 ,Ermal Meta and Fabrizio Moro, represented Italy in Eurovision in Lisbon with their song “Non mi avete fatto niente”. The Italian duo achieved an honorable 5th place in the Grand final with 308 points and a remarkable 3rd placing in the public voting.

    In 2019 , Mahmood, winner of Sanremo 2019 represented the country in Tel Aviv with his entry Soldi. The Italian representative kept the good results for Italy achieving a 2nd place in the Grand Final in Tel Aviv. In 2020 Diodato might have won the Sanremo festival with 'Fai Rumore' but unfortunately didn't have the chance to perform in Rotterdam as the contest was cancelled de to the coronavirus pandemic.

    In 2021 the rock band Maneskin won Saremo 2021 and went on representing the nation on Rotterdam where they triumphed with their song 'Zitti e Buoni' bringing the 2022 contest to Italy. In 2022  the duo Mahmood & Blanco representing the host nation with their Sanremo 2022 winning song 'Brividi', finishing in the honorable 6th place. 

    Last year Marco Mengoni made his comeback on the Eurovision stage with 'Due Vite' which secured another top 5 position for Italy finishing 4th in the overall score.
