Italy: Sanremo Festival 2021 second night's performances and results

• The second night of Sanremo festival 2021 has concluded with the second set of 13 competing acts taking the stage and the 2nd night's  results from the demoscopic jury have been counted. 

  Following the first night's show,  the iconic Italian competition continued the passed evening with the Second Serata of the event with the second set of 13 competing acts in the Campioni Category taking the stage while the last four contestants of the Nuove Proposte category  battled for the last two spots in the final. The show was hosted by Amadeus accomapanied by Elodie and  Fiorello.

  One issue that had to be settled before this evening's show was Irama's participation, whose covid-10 test came out negative but according to the Saremo Safety rules he was not allowed to perform live with the artistic director, Amadeus, opting for a pre-recorded performance of the Italian act. 

  The line up of guests was once again impressive in passed evening's show, with  Achille Lauro along with Claudio Santamaria and  Francesca Barra, appearing once again on stage. More big names featured the second night of Sanremo. Namely, the internationally acclaimed Italian singer, Laura Pausini , Il Volo, who represented the nation in ESC 2015 with 'Grande Amore' and Gigliola Cinquetti who won in 1964 with her song  "Non ho l'età"  and came back in 1974 with "Si", appeared on the show. Additionally,  Marcella Bella , Fausto Leali , Gigi D’Alessio , Alex Schwazer and Cristiana Girelli completed the line up of special guests. 

  The 13 competing acts  which we saw compete in the Campioni Category were the following (Watch their performances by clicking the song titles):

  • Bugo – E invece sì
  • Ermal Meta – Un milione di cose da dirti
  • Extraliscio & Davide Toffolo – Bianca luce nera
  • Fulminacci – Santa Marinella
  • Gaia – Cuore amaro
  • Gio Evan – Arnica
  • La Rappresentatnte di Lista – Amare
  • Lo Stato Sociale – Combat Pop
  • Malika Ayane – Ti piaci così
  • Irama – La genesi del tuo colore
  • Orietta Berti – Quando ti sei innamorato
  • Random – Torno a te
  • Willie Peyote – Mai dire mai (La locura)

   Once the demoscopic jury's votes were in the second night's scoreboard turned out as following: 

  1. Ermal Meta – "Un milione di cose da dirti"
  2. Irama – "La gensi del tuo colore"
  3. Malika Ayane – "Ti piaci così"
  4. Lo Stato Sociale – "Combat Pop"
  5. Willie Peyote – "Mai dire mai (La locura)"
  6. Gaia – "Cuore amaro"
  7. Fulminacci – "Santa Marinella"
  8. La Rappresentante di Lista – "Amare"
  9. Extraliscio feat. Davide Toffolo – "Bianca luce nera"
  10. Gio Evan – "Arnica"
  11. Orietta Berti – "Quando ti sei innamorato"
  12. Random – "Torno a te"
  13. Bugo – "E invece sì"

   

  Taking into account the first night's results and combining them with the second night's results of the demoscopic jury the overall scoreboard for the Campioni catergory after two nights has developed as following: 

   

  Ermal Meta is leading the scoreboard followed by Annalisa in second place, while Irama comes so far third. The top 5 places close with Malika and Noemi in 4th and 5th placing repsectively. 

   

  The Nuove Proposte Category

  The Nuover Proposte category saw the second set of  four competing acts out of eight take the stage with two of them filling the last two spots that lead to the final show. 

  1. Davide Shorty – “Regina”
  2. Dellai –“Io Sono Luca”
  3. Wrongonyou – “Lezioni di volo”
  4. Greta Zuccoli – “Ogni cosa sa di te”

  Davide Shorty and Wrongonyou were the ones to win the last two tickets for the final where they will find the first two qualifiers  Gaudiano ("Polvere Da Sparo") and Folcast (“Scopriti”). 

   

  Sanremo Festival contnues with its thrid show on Thursday night durign which all the 26 artists will be given a chance to choose and to perform songs that have competed at previous editions of Sanremo Music Festival. The members of the orchestra and choir will decide Thursday's ranking.
