-
The Bulgarian Eurovision 2021 hopeful, Victoria, released this evening the last of her six potential entries for Rotterdam, titled “Growing Up is Getting Old”.
A few days before VICTORIA released the titles of the songs of her upcoming debut EP “a little dramatic”, one of which will be her Eurovision entry in Rotterdam next May. Today the Bulgarian act released the sixth and last candidate song running for Eurovision 2021.
The track “Growing Up is Getting Old” is written by the Bulgarian artist and the Swedish songwriters and music producers Maya Nalani, Helena Larsson and Oliver Björkvall.
The Bulgarian artist says about the songwriting process of ”Growing Up is Getting Old”:
“This is one of the first songs I wrote back in 2019 and it all started with the idea I had for the phrase “growing up is getting old”. Together with Maya, Helena and Oliver, we started to build around it and I believe we created something beautiful. The live instrumentation of “Growing Up is Getting Old” makes the song very special and I hope people will also fall in love with the song.”
VICTORIA about the story behind the song:
“Growing Up is Getting Old” is really dear and personal to me. You can grow in many different ways. Sometimes going back to your roots, to the place you feel safe and the people you love, helps you find your purpose on Earth. This is the case for me. When I listen to the song I think of my mother, my father, my sister, my friends. All the people that mean the world to me.”
On Friday, Team Bulgaria will launch the online platform that will allow music fans from around to world to share their feedback about the 6 songs directly to VICTORIA and her team. Exclusive information about the platform will be released on the news website for Eurovision Bulgaria – eurovision.icard.com.
Thus the song selection sees the following entries running for the contest in Rotterdam:
- “Ugly Cry”
- “Imaginary Friend"
