Italy: Tonight Sanremo Festival 2021 continues with its second show

  • Italy's quest for the next Eurovision representative continues, as the 71st edition of Sanremo Festival moves on with the second show.

    Following the first night's show,  tonight Sanremo Festival moves on with the Second Serata of the competition with the second set of 13 competing acts in the Campioni Category taking the stage while the last four contestants of the Nuove Proposte category will batle for the last two spots in the final. The show will be hosted by Amadeus accomapanied by Elodie and  Fiorello.

    One issue that has be settled for this evening's show is Irama's participation, whose covid-10 test came out negative but according to the Saremo Safety rules he is not allowed to perform live with the artistic director, Amadeus, turning to a broadcast of his rehearsal performance if it is accepted by the act himself and the other contestants. 

    The line up of guests is rich for this evening's show, with  Achille Lauro along with Claudio Santamaria and  Francesca Barra, to appear once again on stage. More big names will feature the second night of Sanremo. Namely, Laura Pausini , Il Volo and Gigliola Cinquetti  will appear on the show. Additionally,  Marcella Bella , Fausto Leali , Gigi D’Alessio , Alex Schwazer and Cristiana Girelli will complete tonigh's line up of special guests. 

     

    The 13 competing acts in the Campioni Category in this evening show are: 

    1. Gaia – Cuore amaro

    2. Irama – La genesi del tuo colore

    3. Fulminacci – Santa Marinella

    4. Willie Peyote – Mai dire mai (la locura)

    5. Orietta Berti – Quando ti sei innamorato

    6. Ermal Meta – Un milione di cose da dirti

    7. Gio Evan – Arnica

    8. Malika Ayane – Ti piace così

    9. La Rappresentante di Lista – Amare

    10. Random – Torno a te

    11.  Bugo – E invece sì

    12. Lo stato sociale – Combact Pop

    13. Extraliscio / Davide Toffolo – Bianca luce nera

     

    In the Nuove Proposte category the second set of four acts will take the stage and battle for the last two spots that lead to the final: 

    1. Davide Shorty – “Regina”
    2. Dellai – “Io Sono Luca”
    3. Wrongonyou – “Lezioni di volo”
    4. Greta Zuccoli – “Ogni cosa sa di te”

     

    The Voting Process

    The results tonight will be determined as following: 

    The first 13 songs of " The Campioni category" will be heard for the first time. The result is determined by a 100% poll- (demoscopic) jury from 300 fans who will be casting their vote from their home and which was made up based on special  demographic, age and quality criteria. 

    The first 4 entries  of "Nuove Proposte" will also be heard for the first time. The result is determined by a double vote: 50% of the poll jury and 50% of the televote with only the top-2 acts qualifying for the final.
