Junior Eurovision 2021: Live show's time on December 19 set for 16:00 CET
Tuesday, 05 October 2021

  • The Junior Eurovision 2021 live show is set to hit the screen at 16:00 CET on December 19, 2021.

After a year's break, when the Junior Eurovision show was aired at 17:00 CET live from Warsaw, Poland, the show is returning back to its usual time at 16:00 CET, which has been the ordinary time of broadcast since 2016.

Of course time change is something the contest has gone through several times in the past. Precisely, since the competition hit the screnn for the first time back in 2003 and up to 2015, it was broadcast at 20:15 CET. Only in 2011 it was aired at 19:30 CET. However in 2016, taking into account that it's a children's competition EBU found it more appropriate for the show to be broadcast in an earlier hour, at 16:00 CET.

A total of 19 countries will compete in this year's edition, which after last year's victory of Valentina from France in Warsaw with her song " J'Imagine"  this year's competition will take place in Paris on December 19, 2021 at the La Seine Musicale. This is the first time France is hosting the competition.

So far six JESC representative have been selected with three songs determined. Namely those are the following:

    • Albania
    • Armenia
    • Azerbaijan: Sona Azizova
    • Bulgaria
    • France
    • Georgia
    • Germany: Pauline “Imagine Us”
    • Ireland
    • Malta
    • Netherlands: Ayana“Mata Sugu Aō Ne”
    • North Macedonia
    • Poland: Sara James“Somebody”
    • Portugal: Simão Oliveira
    • Russia
    • Serbia
    • Spain: Levi Díaz
    • Ukraine

With the JESC date approaching more representatives will be determined over the next weeks as the countries' national selections are all underway.
