Norway: Melodi Grand Prix Second Chance round set for February 15

  • The Norwegian nationa broadcaster, has announced that the "second chance" round will take place on February 15, 2020 .

    A total of 12 artists will participate in the MGP final,  set for 20 February. Six pre-qualified artists and five artists advancing from the semi finals. The 12th and last spot in the final will be determined by an extra second chance round that will take place on February 15. 

    Who gets that last place in the final  will be decided through a "last chance" broadcast on Monday 15 February 20: 00-23: 00 at that will be aired on NRK 1 (break 21: 00-21: 20 with news), NRK P1nrk.no/mgp (international stream)

    All 15 artists who did not advance from their semi-final, thus get a second chance to receive a the golden ticket that leads to the final of Melodi Grand Prix and continue to chase their goal to represent Norway at the 65th Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam next May. 

    The online voting that will determine this last chance 'wildcard' for the final will begin just after the last 5th semi final is completed. 

    So far the first semi finals has taken place selecting the first  finalist that will join the six prequalified act in the final show. Namely Blåsemafian & Hazel won the first semi final  with four more acts to compete in the second semi finalsecond semi final the following Saturday  and one prequalified act presenting his song.
