San Marino: 66 acts unveiled for the 'Una Voce per San Marino' semifinals in the Emerging acts category

The 66 acts that will compete in the semifinals of the Emerging acts category of 'Una Voce Per San Marino', the Sammarinese national selection show for Eurovision 2022, have been unveiled.
For 2022, SMRTV is switching to a national final holding "Una voce per San Marino" in order to determine the next Eurovision representative.
The participating artists of this year's selection are divided in two major categories: Emerging Acts and Big Acts. Nine Emerging acts and nine Big acts will make up the line up of the Grand final which will take place on February 19 2022 in the Teatro Nuovo in Dogana.
The Emerging acts are taking part in an academy which serves as a preliminary casting phase and is held at “Teatro Titano”. After several days of castings, 66 acts, six from San Marino and sixty from abroad, have been shortlisted to move on to the semifinals stage in the Emerging acts category.

From February 13 to 18, these 66 acts will compete in the semifinals in order to win one of the spots in the final round for Emerging acts, from which nine acts will eventually advance to the Grand national final where they will join nine more established acts. A professional jury of 7 will judge the qualifying rounds, while 5 jurors will oversee the Grand Final.
During the first three semi final heats (February 13-15) 20 international acts in each semi final will compete against each other. Also, the Sammarinese acts will compete in the fourth semi final on February 16. From all four semi final rounds the top three acts qualify to the final round in the Emerging acts category.
On February 17 a second chance round will give the opportunity to the 15 semifinalists that finished 4th to 8th place to secure one of the four spots in stake for the final of Emerging acts.
Finally on February 18, 2022 the final for the Emerging acts category will take place at Teatro Titano, City of San Marino,
San Marino in Eurovision
San Marino made its first appearcance in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2008 with Miodio and has scored no victory yet. The landlocked country has participated in Europe’s televised music event 9 times and has only made it to the Grand Final twice, in 2014 when Valentina Monetta placed 24th in the Grand Final and this year with Serhat who achieve the best placing finishing 19th in the Grand final
Valentina has flow the Sammarinese flag at the Eurovision Song Contest four times ( 2012, 2013, 2014, 2017). In 2019 Serhat flew the flag for San Marino in Tel Aviv with his entry Say Na na na, achieving to qualify to the Grand final where he finished 19th.
Senhit was internally selected to represent San Marino at Eurovision 2020 with entry ‘Freaky’ which was selected via an online song selection process. Unfortunately the contest was cancelled and Senhit didn't have a chance to complete her Eurovision journey,
SMRTV invited Senhit back for Eurovision 2021 in Rotterdam where she performed her entry 'Adrenalina' alongside with Flo Rida and after qualifying to the final she finished 22th with a total of 50 points in the overall score.
