San Marino: Achille Lauro to Eurovision 2022 with the song 'Stripper'

Achille Lauro won San Marino's national final 'Una Voce per San Marino" and will fly to Turin to sing "Stripper"at Eurovision 2022.
For 2022, SMRTV switched to a national final holding "Una voce per San Marino" in order to determine the next Eurovision representative. The participating artists of this year's selection were divided in two major categories: Emerging Acts and Big Acts. Nine Emerging acts and ten Big acts will make up the line up of the Grand final which will take place on February 19 2022 in the Teatro Nuovo in Dogana.
After several days of castings, 66 acts, six from San Marino and sixty from abroad, had been shortlisted to move on to the semifinals stage in the Emerging acts category.After four semi final rounds and one second chance heat and one last minute withdrawal (Blind's due to health issues) a total of 18 acts took the stage this evening and battled for the ticket to Turin
The show will be hosted by last year's representative Senhit along with Jonathan Kashanian and featured as guest star Al Bano, Italy' ESC 1976 & 1985 act.

- Maria Chiara Leoni – “Tiramisù”
- Mate – “DNA”
- Matteo Faustini – “L’ultima parola”
- Sebastian Schmidt – “Running”
- Tony Cicco, Deshedus & Alberto Fortis – “Sono un uomo”
- Valerio Scanu – “Io credo”
- Vina Rose – “Sweet Denial”
The result was determined entirely by a jury consisting of the following members:
- Mogol – Jury's president
- Simon Lee – conductor and composer
- Clarissa Martinelli – Radio Bruno host
- Susanne Georgi – Andorra's ESC 2009 act
- Dino Stewart – BMG Italy's director
According to the jury's votes Achille Lauro came 1st followed by Burak Yeter & Alessandro Coli, while Aaron Sibley closed the top 3 places.
A few words for Achille Lauro
Lauro De Marinis (born 11 July 1990), professionally aka Achille Lauro, is an Italian singer, rapper and songwriter.He gained popularity in the Italian hip hop scene and he competed in at the Sanremo Music Festival 2019 with the song "Rolls Royce",at the 2020 edition with the song "Me ne frego",and at the 2022 edition with the song "Domenica".
Lauro said he is a huge fan of Vasco Rossi, Kurt Cobain, Elvis Presley and The Beatles. Among his influences, he cites to have been inspired by singer-songwriters Lucio Battisti and Rino Gaetano in reference to his rock turning point.
Achille will compete at Eurovision 2022 in the first half of the second semi final show on May 12 in Turin.
