San Marino: SMRTV unveils the 10 'Big' artists to compete in "Una voce per San Marino"

The Sammarinese broadcaster, SMRTV, has unveiled the 10 established acts that will be competing in the country's national final 'Una Voce per San Marino".
For 2022, SMRTV has switched to the national final holding "Una voce per San Marino" in order to determine the next Eurovision representative.
The participating artists of this year's selection are divided in two major categories: Emerging Acts and Big Acts. Nine Emerging acts and ten Big acts will make up the line up of the Grand final which will take place on February 19 2022 in the Teatro Nuovo in Dogana.
While the 9 Emerging act will be selecting in the show set for February 18 at Teatro Titano, City of San Marino, the 10 established acts were revealed today during a press conference attended by the Secretary of Tourism Federico Pedini Amati , the Director of San Marino RTV Ludovico Di Meo , the Eurovision Head of Delegation Alessandro Capicchioni , as well as Vittorio Costa of Media Evolution.
The 10 Big artists to compete in the nationa final are:
- Achille Lauro
- Cristina Ramos
- Francesco Monte
- Burak Yeter & Alessandro Coli
- Valerio Scanu
- Blind
- Ivana Spagna
- Matteo Faustini
- Tony Cicco & Deshedus & Alberto Fortis
- Fabry & Labiuse feat. Miodio
Achille Lauro participated in this year's Sanremo Festival while Alessandro Coli , singer from Santarcangelo, paired with the internationally renowned Turkish DJ Burak Yeter . Also in the race Blind , rapper who came to the limelight after participating in "X Factor 2020". From Spain there is Cristina Ramos , winner of "Spain 's got talent" in 2016.
TV star and social media Francesco Monte , who has taken part Sanremo Giovani in 2021 is included in the line-up along with the singer from Brescia, Matteo Faustini , instead participated in the Festival in 2020 among the new proposals .
Among the participants is also Ivana Spagna , gold record in 2006 with over 10 million records sold and the winner of the Sanremo Festival in 2010, Valerio Scanu , also remembered for his participation in Amici di Maria De Filippi.
There will also be drummer Tony Cicco together with the Roman band Deshedus and singer-songwriter Alberto Fortis . Last but not least Fabry & Labiuse Feat. I Miodio, who represented San Marino at its debut apearance back in Eurovision 2008.
San Marino in Eurovision
San Marino made its first appearcance in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2008 with Miodio and has scored no victory yet. The landlocked country has participated in Europe’s televised music event 9 times and has only made it to the Grand Final twice, in 2014 when Valentina Monetta placed 24th in the Grand Final and this year with Serhat who achieve the best placing finishing 19th in the Grand final
Valentina has flow the Sammarinese flag at the Eurovision Song Contest four times ( 2012, 2013, 2014, 2017). In 2019 Serhat flew the flag for San Marino in Tel Aviv with his entry Say Na na na, achieving to qualify to the Grand final where he finished 19th.
Senhit was internally selected to represent San Marino at Eurovision 2020 with entry ‘Freaky’ which was selected via an online song selection process. Unfortunately the contest was cancelled and Senhit didn't have a chance to complete her Eurovision journey,
SMRTV invited Senhit back for Eurovision 2021 in Rotterdam where she performed her entry 'Adrenalina' alongside with Flo Rida and after qualifying to the final she finished 22th with a total of 50 points in the overall score.
